She’s the eldest of three children of which she’s the only girl.

During her high school years at the Minneapolis South High School, her favorite activities were playing the violin and soccer.

It’s filled with Genevieve’s favorite subdued colors plus lots of treasured finds she’s brought back from all over the world.

“It feels refreshing, sophisticated, and very me,” she says.

Genevieve Gorder (born July 26, 1974 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American television host and interior designer.


Before being known as a designer, she appeared as a commentator on the MTV series, Sex in the '90s.

After a decade in the same small New York City apartment, design pro Genevieve Gorder was itching for a change.

So when the unit next to hers became available, she jumped at the chance to buy it and combine the two spaces.

She left Lewis & Clark in 1994 and went to New York City to intern at MTV.

At the end of her internship she was offered a permanent position and consequently Big Apple became her new home.She attended Minneapolis South High School, where she played soccer and the violin.
